Couples Therapy
Understanding what happens between you
Even in loving relationships, couples can find themselves caught in painful patterns that neither partner fully understands. The same conflicts arise, attempts to connect lead to misunderstanding, and both people may feel increasingly alone.
My approach to couples therapy is grounded in the belief that what happens between partners often has meanings that aren't immediately apparent. Each person brings a lifetime of experiences, expectations, fears, and ways of protecting themselves into the relationship. Together, these can create patterns that feel difficult to change.
In our work, we'll be curious about those patterns - not to assign blame or determine who's right, but to better understand what each person is experiencing and what happens between you.
As new understandings emerge, there may be opportunities to relate to one another differently, with greater awareness, openness, and freedom to choose how you respond.
